But to her family, friends, colleagues, and thousands of students, she has always been lovingly called Sumi—a name that reflects the warmth, kindness, and care she has shared throughout her life.
That same love is what inspired Sumi's Farm.

Started as a Chemistry Teacher
Started her career teaching Grades 11 & 12 in Chennai Government Schools.
Became a Headmistress
Led schools with discipline, compassion, and care.
Retired as an Assistant Education Officer (AEO)
Promoted to lead all government schools across Chennai.
Always a Mother
Raised two children while inspiring generations of students.
🌱 A New Chapter
After retiring, Sumi wanted to continue caring for people—this time through healthy food.
She began growing microgreens in her home garden
Experimenting with different seeds and techniques. There were many trials, mistakes, and learnings along the way
With guidance from experts and relentless practice, she mastered every step of the growing process to maximise freshness and nutrition.
Soon, cafés, home chefs, and health-conscious families began choosing Sumi's Farm for its quality and consistency.
